Red Mountain Villa is a short-term vacation rental property in the heart of the Washington State Wine Country located just 3 hours east of Seattle in Benton City, Washington. The Red Mountain AVA is the hottest temperature wine-growing region in the state and boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year.
The residence is a 3,500 square foot one-hundred-year-old house that was formally the train station and was fully renovated in 2016 with an “Old World” charming Italian theme design. The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms with abundant living and entertaining space. All the beds are new luxury firm deluxe hotel quality consisting of 2 kings, 1 queen, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the lower living quarters. The house sleeps 8 guests.
As an interesting feature of the Villa, it is the former home of Boo Walker the well-known and acclaimed author of the "3 Red Mountain Chronicles" who wrote these novels from this house as well as many other books. The property was also recently voted "Top Ten Vacation Rental" in the wine country by Wine Tasting Magazine.
The property, located on the Yakima River is abundant with mature apple, pear, plum, apricot, nectarine, hazelnut, and walnut trees. There are also rows of very plump blackberries and 60-year-old mature Concord and Delaware table grapes to consume, For wine production, the Villa also has approximately 1200 grapevines for the private label of Vancour Vineyards. These vines for wine blending consisting of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Petit Sirrah, Barbera, Syrah, Tempranillo, Carmenare, Sangiovese, Valdiquie, Malbec, Chenin Blanc, and Vermentino grapes. There is something to harvest in the gardens, orchard, and vineyard from May to October. It's almost like being in the Garden of Eden while there with all the fruit, nuts and natural wildlife.
The Yakima River boasts many water sport activities such as: boating, fishing, kayaking, rafting, drifting, and bird watching. Or, just sit on the river shore under the walnut trees and watch the day go by reading a book with a glass of wine. Note: There is also world-class salmon and sturgeon fishing nearby on both the Columbia River and Snake River. There are also several golf course within a 20-minute drive.
Next to Red Mountain Villa there are two wineries - Terra Blanca & Tucannon Cellars – both within walking distance and several other vineyards and wineries within a short 5-minute drive. Most Notably: Hedges Cellars & Family Estate, Col Solare Winery, Kiona Vineyard & Winery, Upchurch Vineyard, Cooper Winery, Fidelitas Cellars, Frichette Winery and High Tower Cellars, among others. Many wine connoisseurs and Journalist claim that the Red Mountain AVA may produce some of the best wines in the Country.
